One of the objectives of this kind of deliberately furtive
corporate strategy is to undermine
dissent by paralysing it.
You can't fight what you can't see, and by the time you can see it it feels too big to fight.
The
shock of that can lead to hopelessness, a sense of powerlessness.
That's a normal human reaction to a percieved threat. Fight, Flight, Fright, or in this case, Freeze.
Make no mistake, a company the size of Village Roadshow will have amongst its ranks some pretty clued up
corporate psychologists advising strategy.
